Michael Lynch is Dublin's most notorious criminal, his brazen robberies making him the bane of the Gardaí and a hero to his fellow working class city Northsiders. When not playing happy families with his two wives - sisters Christine and Lisa - and his children, Lynch is busy plotting elaborate heists, thinking as much about the showmanship of it all as he is the loot involved. On his case is Garda Noel Quigley, his determination to convict Lynch slowly turning into an obsession. Inevitably, a showdown looms.

Don't listen to the old critics who are out of touch

This is possibly now my favorite Kevin Spacey movie.Just watched it then for the first time and it's both funny interesting and most definitely watchable! It's got an oceans 11 feel about it , some awesome irish humor and that good ol Cop V Robber begrudging respect. One of those movies you kind of wish there was another hour of, because it was that good it felt like the whole thing lasted 10 mins hahaha. I'm giving it 8 out of 10, Purely on overall feel and how good it was put together. Kevin Spacey's character is peeerrrrfect for his style . That smug House of cards sort've personality style but the other end of the scale , totally likable

Different enough and well-done enough to be worth the time.

I love odd and different movies and this qualifies well. I'm always looking for hidden gems, and while this isn't a diamond, it's a long way from being merely cubic zirconia.

The story is quirky and funny, with some serious scenes (and even a downright brutal scene) mixed in. All of the cast are very good with no poor performances at all, and the story is pleasantly unpredictable.

If you do a bit of research into the true story on which the movie is based, you will also find that it puts a very entertaining (although implausible) twist on history.

If you are tired of standard fare, giving this more unusual film may be worthwhile.

Totally Unfunny! 1/10

Review: This film seemed cheap and it wasn't that funny. Kevin Spacey's Irish accent was appalling, along with the silly storyline that just wasn't that realistic. The gang seemed to get away with the bank jobs, way to easy and you can tell that it was made before the days of forensics. I thought that I would give the movie a chance because of Collin Farrell, who doesn't really say a word throughout the movie, so I just lost interest from the beginning. As for the storyline, I think that the director was attempting a comedy/crime caper, but it went totally wrong when he decided to cast an American in Ireland with a Irish voice, who is surrounded by Irish actors. Disappointing!

Round-Up: I wasn't really expecting that much from this film because I hadn't heard of it before, even though it has Collin Farrell and Kevin Spacey in it. After watching it I can totally understand why they kept this movie under the radar because I am sure that its one that they would like to forget. The amazing thing is that its supposed to be based on a true story, which means that the director really cocked up the project because it all seemed a bit of a mess.

I recommend this movie to people who are into there Irish crime capers. 1/10
