Washed out

I will tell you something about Crispian Mills. He was not much cop as a lead singer of Kula Shaker and is a horrible filmmaker.

In ' A Fantastic Fear of Everything' Simon Pegg plays a peculiar crime writer who needs to get to a meeting with a Hollywood mogul. He is obsessed with serial killers and has fear of launderettes due to a childhood incident. He lives in an area where the Vietnamese mafia run rampage.

The film wants to be a surreal, cultish black comedy. It even has some animation. It is just irritating, silly and boring. The scene where Pegg supposedly is on a rampage with a knife glued to his hand is so inept, it has to be seen to be believed.

Amazingly freightening joy ride into madness.

Its the great Mr Peg I thought this will be a good laugh wow was I wrong didn't expect this complete change in his style of film from a great British light quirky film to a complete horror it really did scare me such intense acting almost gritty. its a fantastic vision of fear. This is real acting sort of classic British theatre. Its colourful interesting what true film awards are made for. Its easily his best bit of work, its almost artistic. I actually regretted previously thinking he was a 1 character actor really did put me on a back foot. One of the best films I've seen in years.

Even Pegg can't save this

When I saw that Simon Pegg (one of my favourite comedy actors) was in this film, I had high expectations. Pegg has an effortless ability to make people laugh, yet even he struggled with this material. The script is dire, the plot is practically non-existent and, most importantly, it's not funny.

Pegg did his best with what he had to work with. He brought energy and personality to the role and at least made it watchable. I dread to think what this film would have been like with a less talented lead actor, because Pegg is the sole reason why I watched it until the end.

'A Fantastic Fear of Everything' is anything but fantastic. 'A Feeble, Fruitless, Flawed and Frankly Forgettable Fear of Everything' would be a more appropriate title.
